With our lightning information system, you can figure out in which part of Germany or Switzerland a lightning has occurred. The intensity of the lightning can also be estimated. This tool helps you to recognize if an incoming report of damage by lightning of an electronic device (like a TV, hi-fi, or PC) is true, possible, or not possible.

Our lightning information system merely misses a lightning. It detects the lightning's position normally within 300 m. All specific information about the lightning (location and time of the lightning as well as the estimated intensity and polarity) is stored in a database. Right now this information is available for Germany and Switzerland. It is also possible to detect a lightning in the proximity of these two countries, but the accuracy of this data will be poorer.
